Ferro rods and metal detectors.

Does anyone know if flint rods will make metal detectors go off? I was thinking about using something like the RAT fire capsule thingy and would hate to have it on my keychain. Security sometimes opens up capsules and stuff on keychains and I'd hate to have a bunch of tinder fly all over the place so I wanted to know if I could just leave it in my pocket when going through security check points.

I have my doubts but can's say for sure. I'm in and out with my maglight on my pack all the time and never had boo say to me. I've also shuttled many a ferror rod through TSA without problem. Just gotta be warry of the scrapers. The square ones that come with LMF raise no eyebrows at all.
