If this against policy please forgive me and remove. I just purchased a few hundred Ferro rods from a big distributor and put some up for sale over on the Gadgets & Gear forum. Thanks...Jim

Just a shot in the dark, but you don't happen to have any of those big fat firesteels, do ya?
 
I actually wanted the big 3/8" x 3" ones like a MagPro. They were out when I ordered and were back in stock once I had already committed to these. I actually like these. I think they work well. They were sold as 1/4"x2.5" so I had the 3" made special. Once a handle is put on I didn't want to loose most of the steel.
 
Price Reduced on 1/4"x3" rods over at Exchange................
 
You guys probably allready know this but I found that a 2" piece of hacksaw blade (24 tpi) makes a great striker using the teeth side. You get a heavy shower of small very directional sparks.
