Ferro rods?

So another stupid newbie question but...I'm making a ferro rod and as far as I know there are no resources covering the subject so I assume its just make a holder outta wood/G10/micarta blah blah and drill a hole the diameter of the rod and epoxy the whole deal up? Thanks for putting up with my stupidity guys

I would say this is about it. A small piece of hacksaw blade makes a good spark thrower.

uhm yea... I'd grind rings in the rod and possibly use a bottom tap and thread the hole, for a more mechanical lock once the epoxy sets up.

Aye aye. I was thinking something along those lines to improve the bond between handle and rod. Thanks again guys
