Im trying to figure somthing out before i buy one of these. Alot of dealers are listing the blade at 2.95 inches with a 2.95 cutting edge. But some other dealers i see the blade listed at 3.6 inch in length. Can anyone that owns one verify the true length of the blade? As its a deal breaker for me. Ill buy a knife with a 3 inch overall blade but not a 3.6 inch blade. Dont want to spend $500 on one and get somthing that im not expecting. Im looking for the length of the blade from handle to tip when opened. Thanks for any help.

It's a 2.95" blade. I think that the 3.6" spec was copied from the Mordax description. The NTAC is just a scaled down version of the Mordax
design.

Am I the only one hesitating because if the steel? I have one custom in N690 and it is alright. I kind of expect a bit more at 525$.

I would prefer a more interesting steel. But for the lower price point FF is hitting I think it's a reasonable steel to use.

Eknives has a sale going I believe they are only 425$ for the next few days. Russ

Thanks for the info on the blade. And same here i was kind of disappointed with the choice of steel for a $500 knife.

How do you guys like the hrd system and the adjustable detent? Do you find that when adjusting the detent it effects the blade centering?

I've found that adjusting the detent does not affect the centering at all.. It's actually a great feature.

Love HRD, easy to adjust and replace if needed. As far as the N-TAC knife specifically, the blade is fine, ok length and good grind. Just my opinion, the handle is a tad short and the flipper tab is too small. I ended up putting some extra grip on my flipper tab, works great now!

Ive been going back and forth for 2 days now trying to decide if i should pull the trigger. Do you think its a good knife for the price?

I own 5 Ferrum Forge Knives.
I've handled quite a few NTac's at the shop, fit & finish are excellent, but they're a little small for my taste so I passed on them.

FWIW, Elliot's HT on the N690 is awesome! I have a BladeShow Mordax in N690 and its easy to sharpen and holds a great edge for quite a long while. All it takes is a few passes on a ceramic hone and it's back to shaving sharp.

I also have the very first SM-100 Stinger to come out of the 100 piece run, and They ROCK!  They're a 3.25" blade. If you've got the budget, take a look at them. KnifeCenter has a pre-order going right now.
