About 6 months ago I broke a screw on my beloved Pretium. I sent Chris an email and his response was fine. I had no bad experience with them during this process. After I got the knife back, however, things got wonky.
They did a hardware upgrade when they had it back. I don't really see why. Apart from the screw I broke, everything was stellar. The knife had little to no lock retention. What I mean, when locked open, I could easily close it by a hit on the spine of the blade. That along with the detent. It took no effort. Gone was the snappy hard detent I had. Naturally I emailed him about my concerns and explaining the issues I saw. His reply was basically saying I needed to let it wear in a bit and my detent was due to the HRD litterally sitting in the detent hole too far. There wasn't much they could do there.
I got him to take it back and look at the knife. He replied, awhile after they got it(he replied they got it the 24th of april. Didn't look at it until june 11th), saying he noticed there were issues with the lock face due to the new stop pin they installed. He then went on the say the Pretium was no longer a knife to judge their workmanship. He suggested a trade. My Pretium for a new Mordax with my anno job of choice. I admit, I was hesitant, but I agreed. He said they'd get it out as soon as they could. Awesome. New knife!

1 month goes by. No communication. I know these guys are busy and I get they do a lot as a 2 man crew. Not wanting to be too needy, I figured a month going by was enough time to ask how it was going. He replied saying he was planning on getting mine shipped next week. Awesome!

1 month goes by. Again, no communication after having said a time frame. I email again saying I just want to withdraw from the trade all together and get my money back from their services on my Pretium. He replies saying he's sorry he didn't contact me earlier and there were set backs etc etc. He says the price of the work done on the Pretium is being used to cover the more expensive Mordax and a milled pocket clip. He asks me to stick with the trade saying my knife will be completed next week. I agree. This was August 10th. Still no knife. I've been without my pretium since I broke it in February. I guess you could count the day or two when I got back.

It kind of irks me a bit. I follow other makes via email. There is one in particular sends out emails regarding any setbacks they may encounter. I also thought they should refund the work they did on my knife in the first place. Chris admitted there was something wrong.

I'm waiting my month again. Hoping I can get my Pretium back at least.

Eh. I'd buy another one from them and hope to God it didn't break.
To be fair, my first experience with them want as bad. There were some issues with the over travel disc so I sent it back. I think about a month went by? I dunno, this was over a year ago. Regardless, I sent them an email, got a reply saying they were rally back logged and they'd look as soon as they could. A week later it was in my mailbox with a hand written note from Elliott. He said he was sorry about the lack of communication and the milled pocket clip, fixes and anno on the clip was free. Super cool.

Quick update. My knife came in the mail randomly. No note. Just the knife. Haha. Whatever. Glad it's over now I guess. Still. This was an odd experience.
