Hey guys , few questions I'm hoping yall can help me out with .

Been looking at a Bradley Alias 1 and just had a few questions about the knife.

Is it still being made the 1 that is ?

If it's not still being made is it considered rare or anything or just a regular old knife ?

Any feedback on the knife is appreciated , ive heard them called "poor man sebenza" and that's a pretty high standard if you ask me .

Anybody that has any time using the knife let me know how you like it . Local guy here at the brick and mortar is wanting to trade me this Bradley big time and I just don't know much about them , any help would greatly be appreciated .

I'll try as best I can to answer this but I'm biased since I have one :D

No longer made, I would say they're rare, especially the blue ones, so if you can get one do it :)

They are an awesome knife in itself but I can see why they'd be called a poor mans Sebenza lol they share a lot of similarities in ergos and looks.
The blade shape is slightly different, but it is beautiful :) more of a spear point??
Smooth action, tight tolerances, very solid feeling.
I'd say get it!

I've been carrying and using one for almost a decade. It's been opened and closed several times every day, and the lockup is still rock-solid.

The knife has served me well, and despite owning several high-quality folders, the Alias 1 is my go-to folder.

I replaced the thumbstud and pocket clip soon after buying the knife. I didn't like the small pointy stud, and I preferred a longer black clip. Both the stud and clip are easily replaced by aftermarket ones if that is something you should ever want to do. The holes for the clip are a "standard" configuration used by Benchmade. Knifekits.com sells a variety of clips that are a perfect fit.

I also ground off the blade jimping, because I don't like jimping, and because the jimping would scrape my hand when inserting my hand into my pocket and past the knife to get something. And sweat would cause the rough steel in between the jimping to rust a little.

I don't know how many Alias 1's were made, but I don't see or hear about many on this forum. I guess the lack of posts in this thread could be seen as evidence of how few people own them and perhaps how rare they are.

When I bought my Alias 1 I was also considering a Sebenza. I could easily afford the Sebenza, so price wasn't an issue. I just liked the feel and design of the Alias more. And I've never regretted my decision to purchase it.

I owned an Alias many years ago.

It was made by BM, or it was a collab. with BM.

I can only speak for the example I had, but I found the overall quality/F&F to really be lacking.

It's a somewhat rare knife, that if I was still a "collector" I would want to own, but as a user, it's nothing special, and certainly not a "Sebenza competitor" as some may say....

It is somewhat rare, but not enough so to make them valuable. I like the size and lock. They are slim and light and function well. Unfortunately I don't still own mine.

Its one of the better Ti Framelocks out there. Very decent knife, somewhat comparable to other Ti Framelocks.

Mine hasn't t been used much, but when I bought it , it was considered the poor man s Sebenza. It was still expensive for me. It cost about half as much as the Sebenza for about 80% of the quality. One of my first high quality high value knives. The Sebenza was ,by some standards, merely high quality. I d consider getting it for around two bills.
