unfortunate that the pics are no longer there, but I think thats a good way to start!!

That is certainly one way to do it. It would probably be easier if you just did the initial metal hogging with the edge pro at a more acute angle. Then just convex the edge using sandpaper on top of leather as if you are stropping the edge. It is very natural for the hand to convex without much thought because most of us cannot hold a perfectly still angle.

It's good to see someone using a good chopping angle that throws those chunks out of the cut. The FFBM blade geometry really helps kick those chunks out when you hit it right. After watching Reggie Barker go through the 2x4 in 5 seconds at the Blade cutting contest I've been waiting to see a Busse go for the time trial. Nice work!

Ive never seen a 4 x 8

Ive seen 2 x 8's and 4 x 4 and 6x6 but a 4 x 8.

what's it used for?

I beams..LOL

And yeah i am sure that would give the Mistress and its user a challenge.:D

My father got a bunch of them somewhere and I "borrowed some of them". Before that I cut 4X4's and 4X6's. Tyrkon I would say go to a 4X4 and then a 4X6, they are easy enough to find. Just work your way up, I pretty much chop what I can find for dead wood or pre-fabbed wood.
