One of my favorite "little" Spydercos from back in the day when I first got into knives. I owned a couple of Rookies and eventually sold them/traded them off, but really liked these little guys for discreet EDC.

Had been looking forward to this new release quite a bit, have a pre-order in, but happened upon an in-stock listing from a certain "center" on the internet and pulled the trigger.

Should be here in a couple of days, can't wait. Like an old friend coming home.

Now how about a sprint run of the Wegner Jr? ;)
 
Read your post FIREBAT and ordered one from the center and it should be here tomorrow. Thanks for the tip. I like the new Police G3 but too big. The Rookie should be just right for an EDC.

This reminds me a lot of the Delica... What are the highlights of this knife?
 
I guess it is pretty similar to the Delica, not that that's a bad thing...

In it's original incarnation back whenever, it was produced in SS and G-10, looooong before the idea of G-10 Delica became reality.

Blade length is about the same, but the Rookie has that nice pointy "splinter picking" tip. Thinner blade than the Delica, too (height, not steel thickness necessarily but not sure). Different grind of course, so whatever you prefer.

Rookie carries small, too. Definitely a more compact package when closed than the Delica, that's for sure.

Let's see, what else....they're both sharp? ;)

I dunno. It's not about "which one is better" or "it's too similar to another model so who cares" for me, it's more nostalgic than anything else. I really enjoyed my G-10 Rookies of the past, so I'm glad to see it again. I've got Delicas that are perfectly excellent pieces, but I still have a fondness for the little Rookie.
