What is fiber spacer material made out of? and what other materail could I use as spacers?

The liner I use is a paper fiber, maybe some plastic mixed in. You can really use anything that will hold up. I have one on the bench with a titanium liner, just seems like a good idea with carbon fiber. Make sure it wont soak up moisture and will stick to glue and you should be ok

I was thinking of using plastic, like from a plastic folder, they come in many colors and very cheap.

the typical liner is "vulcanised fibre" which is a heat treated paper fibre, designed as an electrical insulator.

i've use3d just plain paper before and it works fine

be carefull with plastics, most epoxy will not stick very well. If you have pins or bolts you will be fine. The nice thing about fiber spacers is they will form a bit to fill any gaps.
