As always, my first priority is to thank all of you. Fiddleback Forge depends on y’all, and we hope you love the tool you buy from us.
Well, Thanksgiving has come and gone. I hope yours was as good as mine, and you have feasted and given thanks for your own blessings. My family and I are in Ms at my granddads old place here. I’ve been literally laying in the fields watching the deer play. Hannah inherited her first gun, a old single shot 410 that I inherited from my mom, who got it from her dad. We went squirrel hunting together, but didn’t see a one. Hannah is patient, and was no problem sitting and watching. We saw 3 deer that day but not one bushy tail. I got 4 the next afternoon though to pay them back. Hannah doesn’t know it, but it was an amazing experience for her dad. I got to clean a batch of squirrels with my Sneaky Pete, and my kids got to watch game being processed. Both watched intently, and said they’d even eat the meat. I was proud of them.
I got a beautiful batch of knives ready for you for this week and I hope you like them. Be sure to check out the 2nd iteration of the thick bladed Duke with the Box Elder Burl.
The prices this week are without sheaths. I am lucky enough to work with Rick Lowe and Heber Ellsworth for my sheaths. The make beautiful sheaths that really compliment my work. I appreciate your support for them as well.
The steel this week is 3D Spalted 01 steel and CPM 154 with Fiddleback Textured Flats.
Payment may be made to Paypal, or by personal check or MO. I hold all personal checks until they have cleared. This usually doesn’t cause a delay because they usually clear before shipping day.
Attention!!! The paypal address is: fiddlebackpayments at att dot net. Please describe your purchase in the payment notes.
Shipping is included within the US. Ken has taken over the shipping department and we are going to be setting up a special e-mail address for all questions or concerns regarding shipping. I’ll give that out when the new website is launced.
The small knives this week are really a nice looking set. The burl HB doesn’t hardly weigh anything. That really gets me going.

Check out this set of Bushcrafting gems. I got to use my knives in the woods all week. The kids and I made a fort together in a hollow that’s grown over a low spot on a fenceline. Lily, it turns out may be my woodsiest kid. She’s totally blown away with how much room there is here. I showed her a couple of cool spots and she’s all about the place.

Nessmuks. This week I want to keep the African Blackwood Nessmuk this week. I also think the bone white linen is very suited to it. Its going to age into something exceptional! I love that about the bone white linen. There is a lady in the Guild that is going to scrimshaw some of it for me.
2013 1129 009 – Nessmuk, Bone white linen micarta over natural canvas micarta with a blue g10 pinstripe, SFT Tang, convex on 1/8” thick 3D Spalted 01 steel - $255

Sneaky Pete’s – I’m carrying my Sneaky Pete this week. Mine has an 1/8” thick blade with a nice high thin grind and a Black Locust handle. It snapped through the squirrels legbones without an edge trouble. I love when they do what they are supposed to do. Cut stuff up. This week I have a thick tapered one with Wenge, and a thin SFT tang one with Forest Green and brass burlap.
2013 1129 012 – Sneaky Pete, Forest Green and Brass thread burlap micarta from Shadetree over natural canvas with an orange g10 pinstripe, SFT Tang, Convex on 1/8” thick 3D Spalted 01 toolsteel - $255 SOLD

Recluses and a Terassaur. You can see in the pic that the point style for the two models is very similar. Its a high-ish drop point. The Recluse has a smidge more belly, and the handle shape is totally different. The Terassaur has a longer blade and a longer handle with the bell farther back. The recluse has more protection for the fingers as well.
2013 1129 014 – Recluse, Bone White Linen micarta over natural canvas with a lime green g10 pinstripe, SFT Tang, Convex on 1/8” thick 3D Spalted 01 toolsteel - $255

Hunters. The Hunter has become a superstar model, and you folks have discovered its simple workhorse type functionality. I remember when I made the first Woodsman, Ladyfinger and Hunter that I had them displayed in corks on the bar in the kitchen, and kept pulling the Hunter out and putting it in the front. The first few days those three prototypes were done was exciting for me. They really looked like knives to me. I felt like a knifemaker. Its taken a bit of time for it to catch on, but I think its really coming into its own now.
2013 1129 017 – Hunter, Maroon Linen over natural canvas with a white g10 pinstripe, SFT Tang, Convex on 5/32” thick 3D Spalted 01 toolsteel - $305 SOLD

2013 1129 019 – Hunter, Stabilized Box Elder Burl over black with a white g10 pinstripe, SFT Tang, Convex on 5/32” thick 3D Spalted 01 toolsteel - $325
Camp Nessmuk and a Duke. I love the idea of a two Nessmuk Nessmuk Trio. This model is the small choppeer. Then add a Nessy, and a folder and you’re set. Actually, both knives in this set are excellent choices for the small chopper. This Duke is a stud too. Thick 3/16” steel really sets it off.
2013 1129 020 – Camp Nessmuk, Osage Orange over natural canvas with a blue g10 pinstripe, SFT Tang, Convex on 5/32” thick 3D Spalted 01 steel - $305 SOLD
