I purchased a 18" Fiddleback machete blank (heat-treated and stamped, but with no edges or handles). I took it to Jared Oeser's house and he put handles on it - bone linen micarta under black linen micarta with tan linen micarta pins and lanyard tube. He then put a scandi convex edge on it and an unsharpened swedge.
This has been used and has spotting on the blade grinds and a couple small rolls in the edge, as shown in the pictures. Those with proper motivation and equipment can restore this to brand new condition in very little time. Otherwise, the edge is still very sharp.
Includes a never used or carried Heber Ellsworth black leather sheath.
Sold.
