Thanks... I enjoy spending a day doing this type of work.. maybe I'll forge my own blade one day. I'm really considering buying a basic knife grinder with contact wheel and plate... it's not really expensive and I think it would be fun

I'm loving the deep pocket carry Runt sheath. Nice work.

Thanks necessity is the mother of invention .. didn't want to freak out my fellow coworkers and I still get two finger purchase on the end so it's still easily retrievable

Haha yeah, I bought the camera body and lens semi new back in 2002 six months after college graduation with just about all the savings from those six months of working. Still going strong as one of my two film cameras while I've had handful of digital cameras in the past 14 years.

I have a 30 yr old hassleblad 500c and a Nikon f2 that sees regular use... the f2 was the camera my dad took my baby pictures with

Very nice! Is that a TEC clip? If so, that gives me some idea of scale. Powerful little buggers, those clips. How is the clip attached to/within the sheath?

Yup it's a tec key dangler... there's a rivet through the key ring hole and through the leather patch the the patch is stitched onto the sheath... I use barge cement as well to affix the leather patch

Thats quite the story tied to the cameras! Always had the intention of getting an old Hassy film camera, but I have hard enough time getting out to shoot these days. Plus, ever since i got married, my hobby money went bye bye hehe. Yeah, I have an F3HP as my other film camera, used to be a big Nikon fan myself.

I only have experience w/ Leica binos. Would it be ok to assume the glass is equally as awesome on the cameras?

Haha that's a loaded question, no pun intended :). Leica are traditionally known for their superb German engineering and optics are indeed great, but my humble opinion is that they didn't quite embrace the digital sensors early enough and in many ways have fallen behind. But their optics are still considered to be up there, but many do hate on the brand for their steep price. For me I'd never buy their digital cameras as digital cameras get surpassed by the next model every year though Leica digital cameras retain their value a little better. It was a huge purchase for my 22 year old self back then, but I knew I would have my film Leica M6 pretty much all my life and give it to an offspring or something like that :D and i just love shooting it in all manual (well, it's the only way you can shoot it), very tactile connected experience like using a Fiddie.
