This is sort of a review, but of the Fiddleback Bow Legged Joe, which isn't really a wilderness survival knife. All the same, I wanted to post my opinion of it here to get Andy some more well deserved exposure.

I received my first Fiddleback knife on 3/19. Andy has already posted great pics of my knife (the one with Purpleheart and Maple), which you can see here:

As was described in a previous post, the knife and JRE sheath came cleverly wrapped in brown paper, tied with a small piece of string and with Andy's card attached. Andy even included the cork shown in the pictures and a neck chain for the sheath.

As sweet as those pictures look, I still don't think they do Andy's craftsmanship justice. The handle is absolutely stunning. The contouring and various layers are simply amazing. Even my wife, who couldn't care any less about knives, though it was beautiful.

I've been carrying this knife every day since I received it in my front pocket and have used it for various tasks around the office, opening boxes, etc. I believe this was the niche Andy was trying to fill, a non-threatening, office safe, fixed blade knife and I think his design has certainly met that goal.

Earlier today, my wife came home from the store with some sort of "Furbuster" device for combing our dog. It came in one of those annoying heat-sealed plastic packages that seem to give my production folders a fit. The BLJ flew through it like it was paper.

My first cut was kind of ragged because I was halfway expecting the hassle I normally experience opening these. Once I realized how quickly and effortlessly this blade moved through the plastic, my cuts improved.

I love the knife and look forward to more Fiddlebacks in my future.

That's a cool little design; I don't think any of Andy's knives sit around on the "For Sale" floor very long. Nice score!

I've been drooling over that design for quite some time now. I'm glad to see that you like it.

How does it feel in your hand?

I was skeptical about the two finger grip, but could not resist the beauty of this knife. After getting it, the shape of the handle and the slight thumb ramp on the back of the blade provide excellent control and the feel is superb. I couldn't be happier with this knife.

Thanks! I was worried some might think this is out of place. A picture of the sheath is shown in the thread attached above. I could snap another if you'd like.

Thats really just the kind of task I designed that knife to do! Cool ass!
