Fiddleback Collections

Yes orange is the suck. Tell you what. I'll take that 24/7 off your hands to lessen the burden.

No need to thank me. The look on my face will make it all worth while. :D

Not all Fiddlebacks, but I think it shows my current Fiddleback collection.

Come on now ... that is too much... The camp and palmer are my favorites!

Wow Gus! That's a stellar collection! The Inlander and the Ladyfinger are awesome.

Really cool bog oak and bocote collections. The variations in grain and color are interesting to look at.

I'm curious about Bog Oak. What do we know about it? Having been in the ground for so long, is it technically fossilized wood?

I would really like to hear about the durability / stability of Bog Oak. I really like the idea it, but have heard widely varying accounts of its suitability as a handle material.

Regardless of any of that, Gusbuster, you have an amazing collection. Thank you for posting those pics!!!

I love Bog Oak. Can't comment on long term durability or hard use but have not noticed any shrinkage or movement in mine. I think it's more stable than Ironwood as some of my ironwood FB's have had the pins becoming very slightly proud and no change in my BO blades.

Gus, and Abe,

Man, I love the look of those Bog Oaks! Gus, what is the top and second one down on the W.A. Surls collection?

Abe...same question. The bottom blade by Allen?
