Bamboo called it tux, but it's not actually the tuxedo pattern which is black over natural and white.

If you want it, just say you'll take it and send paypal to fiddlebackpayments(at)att.net. Please describe your purchase in the payment notes.

Thank you also for your help thurin!

Does fiddleback still make the lonestar model? I have seen them online and they look real cool, but they dont promote them on the website. Are they discontinued?

The Lonestar is relatively new and as far as I know is still being made ...

Bear in mind, these are true custom knives, each crafted by hand.

The offerings vary from week to week, and so not all models are offered each time.

Read through the "Fiddleback Forge Intro Thread" post - it is a 'sticky' at the top of the Fiddleback Forge section - it will help a lot.

Welcome to the fray! Nice first acquisition you have there, Johnny!

Congratulations everyone on the fine new acquisitions. If this batch is any indication of the rest of the year, there are going to be a lot of happy knife owners in 2015

Thanks edge! Since you are undoubtedly more experienced in these types of knives than I am, may I ask you a question? What do you prefer between a drop point blade and a clip point? It seems that FIddleback only really offers one clip point (the lonestar) Is that because they are not quite as good or strong?

Johnny,

Not sure that I am the voice of expertise here, but there are some really knowledgeable folks in this community, so you have "landed" well ...

The reason you see so many of what you refer to as "drop point" blades here is that Andy's knives are largely regarded (and used as) Bushcraft Tools. The blade profiles are actually more akin to a "Spear point" than a drop point, but what you will find as you research and consider (and even more so, USE) these blades is that they are an ideal configuration for most tasks you need a fixed blade knife for ... bushcraft, whittling, camp chores, kitchen duty, even dressing and skinning game - the blade profiles chosen for the different models have been carefully considered and have evolved as the result of experienced woodsmen and outdoorsmen (and women). Andy himself, being an Eagle Scout and an avid outdoorsman, has often reported how pleased he is with the performance of this knife or that, for a given task ... I believe his 'Bushcrafter' was modeled as a "Scout friendly" blade at the onset, and remains a staple in the lineup and a much favored knife among those 'in the know' ...
As I said, there are many members here far more experienced than I that can help, though I am honored to be your "gateway member" ... ;) ...

I would strongly suggest you read through some of the review threads posted by members here ("Mistwalker's" threads are a great place to start - with apologies to all the other great Members/Mentors here that I have not named - too many of you), and any other threads that specifically name a knife model, or say 'review' in the title ... there is such a wealth of information here, and so many great folks, you may be overwhelmed at first, but once you start reading and "digging in", you will be amazed and delighted ...

Welcome again, and enjoy!

Ok Mr. Bamboo, i am taking the TuX bushboot
I have to warn you, starting out with such a nice one will lead you down a very expensive path. That is a very slick looking Bushboot.
Class act!

Congrats on your first successful shark! Enjoy the Fiddleback.

Nicely done, C_Stahl.

Sounds like an heirloom -- congrats
Thanks gentlemen, I figured he would appreciate it far more than I could. Now had it been the Camp Nessie from today, I probably could have appreciated that one plenty myself.

That bushboot is slick
The pins are almost invisible and it has a mosaic
Congrats johnny

Edge,

Thanks for the response, that was great! And makes tons of sense as well. I truly have never joined an internet forum before, but I do like knives very much. I have a pretty cool collection for my standards but mainly folders. Fixed blades are a bit out of my wheelhouse but once I saw a few Fiddleback knives on line, I thought they looked so cool that I really wanted one.... Hence me trying to figure out this whole process.... Anyway, I appreciate you and everyone else's help. Especially the kind man c_stahl that let me have the knife he called lol! That was really nice, I hope some friday I can at least repay the same kindness to him or another guy on the forum, give up a knife I called and make his day too.

Thanks again my friend, I truly do appteciate it!!! If I ever call any knife that you want, you let me know, its yours....
