Oh thank you! Right now I need to buy another knife like I need another hole in my head...but that one was just really tempting. I love the look of walnut, it would match my rifle stock :)

What's your guys opinion on the falcon.

Hi Adam,

The things that I like about the Falcon are:
1) The handle size relative to the blade size.
2) The handle shape, contours and finish looks comfortable and well executed. I definitely see Andy's influence in this area.
3) The grind lines are very precise. This shows your skill at the grinder.
4) It looks like it has the type of neutral balance that I prefer in a knife that size.

The things that don't appeal to me are:
1) The swedge grind. I don't buy anything with a swedge grind. It adds costs and doesn't serve any purpose for my personal uses. It also tends to convey "weapon" instead of "field/hunting" to the uninformed people. I perceive the FF buying crowd here to be more interested in buying the latter rather than the former. I notice that Andy's swedged dagger grind knives tend to sell a little less quickly on the dealer sites than the single edge models.
2) The size and placement of the logo / makers mark. It is just too big for my taste and it distracts my eye from the overall flow of the good looking knife. One of the many subtle things that I really like about Andy's knives is the placement of the makers mark on the spine where it doesn't distract from the beauty of the knife. I like the design of GEC folders, but I won't buy any because they feel the need to etch billboard sized stuff on their blades.

I hope that you find this feedback to be constructive. Your are obviously a very talented knife maker and I want you to succeed in selling your products.

Best regards,

Phil

I appreciate the feedback.

Adam, Phil's list is really good (and very constructive). I would add that the blade shape (swedge or not) is a great look. Very sleek.

For me in Texas, a blade 5.5" or longer is a problem for general use unless I'm camping and the like. That knife in a 4" or 4.5" blade would be super sweet. I find the blade length issue ironic given where I can carry my gun here...

If it's still available...

Regarding the Valkyrie: Other than the size and large logo I like everything about it.

Large logos really sting me, it distracts from the beauty of the knife in hand. Fiddleback forge logo is great because it doesn't distract at all.
