As always, my first priority is to thank all of you. Fiddleback Forge depends on y’all, and we hope you love the tool you buy from us.
Man, what a week. I’ll be driving down to the quarterly GA Knifemakers Guild meeting this afternoon and evening, so I may be a bit slow to respond. I have a few extra special things to show you this week. First, be sure to check out the Fiddle mark on the extra sweet Arete with Paduk handles and forged flats! Nice knife to be sure.
And introducing a new finish on the flats of the SS knives that I am calling Fiddleback Textured Flats. I think it makes them look a lot more my style. I’ve been working on this for a while, and I hope you like it.
Even though we are growing, please be sure that every knife that has my initials has been hand ground by me. Also, the handle shapes are mine alone. Honestly, right now I have my hands in every process. But I wanted y’all to know that I’m not marking knives with my name that aren’t made by me.
We have upgraded our marking ability and the mark is now etched deeply in the steel.
The prices this week are without sheaths. I am lucky enough to work with Rick Lowe and Heber Ellsworth for my sheaths. The make beautiful sheaths that really compliment my work. I appreciate your support for them as well.
The steel this week is 3D Spalted 01 steel and CPM 154CM with Fiddleback Textured Flats.
Payment may be made to Paypal, or by personal check or MO. I hold all personal checks until they have cleared. This usually doesn’t cause a delay because they usually clear before shipping day.
Attention!!! The paypal address is: fiddlebackpayments at att dot net. Please describe your purchase in the payment notes.
Shipping is included within the US. Ken has taken over the shipping department and he got the packages out on Tuesday this week. He is also doing the packing and wrapping, which had been getting done by a part time helper. I think the packages this week were as good as when I used to do them myself or even better maybe. There is going to be a special e-mail address for all questions or concerns regarding shipping. I’ll give that out next week. Please help us help you by describing your purchase in the payment notes section.

This spalting pattern was only done for a short period of time when I first discovered spalted steel. This is a rare knife. I don’t make the Comp Cutter much, and I never make it from 5//32” thick steel anymore. Its too hard to grind it when its that thin!!!

Thank you for you interest folks.
