I love making knives for you all. Thanks to everyone for supporting Fiddleback Forge. Its an amazing feeling to do this for a living. Fiddleback Forge depends on yall, and we hope you love the tool you buy from us.
This week we made the sexiest dud I have ever produced. I noticed right out of the temper that this blade had warped very badly. But I went ahead and cleaned it up anyway. Everything about it was beautiful, except the warp. So I figured Id get myself a Duke finally, and put it in the tray meaning to tell Ken to put something cheap on it. I forgot and he put stunners on the dud. So, I really outdid myself making one for myself this week. Check out Kens bolster pommel combo action! Nice work Ken. Im going to love this knife.
The steel this week is 3D Spalted 01 steel and CPM 154 with Fiddleback Textured Flats.
Please note that the SS is a big thicker than the measurement I order because most folks surface grind to size. So this means 1/8 thick blades are really ~0.140 thick.

Small Knives The Carver in this weeks batch is the best Ive done. I figured out a lot about grinding blades while grinding the Runts, of all things, this week. I love the feeling of discovery as a craftsperson when all of a sudden, something slows down and makes perfect sense.

Two Recluses! There is just something about Tuxedo Config that I love. This new black canvas is very black compared to the last stuff, and it really highlights the contrasting brown. Thats what the Bishop is done in as well. The Evergreen Burlap handled Recluse here is a Model Standard Knife. Both knives have that thing that keeps them in your hand.

Three BEAUTY Bushfingers, and something new. I finally found maroon canvas micarta! Id always hoped for it in vain, but here it is, and this BF is something special IMO. It doesnt have a tapered tang though, or it would be model standard, just like the other two. Still, its a special knife.
