Important Info! Fiddleback Friday 5/29/20 (Early Preview)

Wellllll, I really had my eye on that starry night Toboggan but it came down to what I feel like I currently need vs what I have in my inventory. I already have blade shapes closer to the Toboggan so my knife funds had to go towards a Kephart out at USA Made Blade. Uhgggg, but that starry night is SO nice!

The other upside is that this will spare me post-time heartburn and adrenaline this evening. :D

Brian, it is a small handle but it magically melts in your hand. It’s very comfortable. I carry one as my edc.

Thanks for the response Joey, that wasn't a complaint or anything. I like smaller handles on an edc for discretion, and especially in some of the work I've been doing lately. These dimensions are spot on for my wheel house lately. After some musings passing through my head after a recent trip to document and interview people in downtown ATL, I really like how the handle looks like a very secure purchase and that the angled pommel extends out of the hand and could make for a very painful pommel strike if necessary. I just wanted some clarification because visually in the image the handle appears to be more than just a half inch longer than the blade, but pictures can be deceptive sometimes depending on lighting and angle, so I thought I'd ask.

While the Toboggan is the star of the show for sure, I am really digging the Yellow Jacket Burlap on the Stubbymuk. The Stubby I picked up in last Friday's sale isn't here yet. Having never held one, excited to see how it is in hand. My wife is very excited for it. She uses the Camp Cleaver in the kitchen almost daily, so she is always interested in Fiddleback Friday. She loves your guys handle choices and packaging. Rambling a bit but I'll echo what others have said. Great Batch!!!

The spalting on that Duke tho...

Ahhh, so it appears we finally fixed cart jacking!! Looks like "First one to add it to the cart" gets it now vs "First one to complete the check out". I missed out but, I think it's for the better .. Good deal!:thumbsup:

Am I correct, or misinterpreting?

I hammer texture the CPM154 and 80CrV2 with two different hammers and apply the spalting juice to the A2...thanks:)

Another great batch this week gentlemen! Are you guys going to have a progress thread for the open books orders once you start cranking them out?

Y'all are why we do this. Thank you for checking them out!

The Ladyfinger never had a bealed handle pommel. The Toboggan is my take on Canadian shaped knives.

confirmed
G
thank you

I had finally figured out that it was not the Ladyfinger that the Tobabrought to king, but those that many and varied Canadian Guides I recall from my youth!

perhaps I could proof read!

So, yes, I had finally figured out that it really was the old Canadian Guide style knives that the Toboggan brought to mind. Not the Ladyfinger.

Thanks and yes....ive been in the process of moving and have had limited hours in the shop

I try and follow Fiddleback Friday every week. Some weeks certain knives speak to me more than others, and most times I'm just too slow on the trigger. I feel very lucky scoring the starry night Toboggan. It will match my starry night Hiking Buddy, and when I read Andy explain it was his take on the Canadian belt knife it made me want it even more. I am so happy and lucky I was able to score this one.
