Important Info! Fiddleback Friday 6/19/20 (Early Preview)

^Congrats. That is a beautiful knife. I gave it a hard look but during the mad scramble was able to snag the one I had my eye on, the LilLady in African Blackwood (a wood I am very partial to). Also my first knife with this steel. Excited as heck to score!!! Now I need to find a good sheathmaker. This deserves some quality leather.

My first time hearing of 8670. Sounds like it’s a great steel from the comment I read on here.
What would a comparable steel be? (if there is one)

Either way, I’m pretty excited to try it out!
What a great batch this week. Awesome job to all the fellas in the shop making it happen every week!!

Edit to add: Just saw the thread on this. Gotta keep my eyes open! Lol!

Thank you kindly - and great score on the Lil' Lady! A classic, beautiful pattern and the execution on this one is stellar. Enjoy!

Congrats on your super nice HM score ,That 3/32 will be super slicer.Liked the Shaman a lot but since i have the Chief i went for the Apprentice and feels lucky to score it.

Thanks, RM! I do believe she will slice like a laser, indeed! Nice job snagging the Apprentice - lots of style there.

Its been around quite a while, and I know of a few of the makers that I consider masters that swear by it. Don Hanson is one example. Its a saw blade steel, and may be compared to L6. It takes an unreal edge! I am very happy with the results of the test knife. Its quickly becoming my favorite steel.

I haven’t checked out one of these previews in a while.

Oh my goodness, that Lil Lady!!

Hey schmittie schmittie Great to see you!
