As always, my first priority is to thank all of you. Fiddleback Forge depends on y’all, and we hope you love the tool you buy from us.
Hello and Merry Christmas from Fiddleback Forge. Everyone here is excited and working like elves to try to finish up and go spend time with family. Its been interesting this year to have so many families and lives around me here at the shop. And, we are plus one! I want to announce that we have taken on a new apprentice. Her name is Judy, and she is going to be an excellent knifemaker. She has a degree in industrial design, and has studied photography. My friend Paul sent her to us, and both Dylan and I are excited to teach knifemaking to her.
Also this week I get to show off the Big Sneaky. This knife is the size of a Duke, but with Sneaky Pete family shape charasteristicx. The knife has a 5” blade and 4.5” long handle along with the width of the Sneaky Pete handle. Everyone here loves it.
The steel this week is 3D Spalted 01 steel and CPM 154 with Fiddleback Textured Flats.
Payment may be made to Paypal, or by personal check or MO. I hold all personal checks until they have cleared. This usually doesn’t cause a delay because they usually clear before shipping day.
Attention!!! The paypal address is: fiddlebackpayments at att dot net. Please describe your purchase in the payment notes.
Shipping is included within the US. Ken has taken over the shipping department and we are going to be setting up a special e-mail address for all questions or concerns regarding shipping. I’ll give that out when the new website is launced.
The Scorpion – I made two more Scorpions this week. I gotta tell you that I love this knife model. Its just fun to make. If someone was carrying something like this I’d be on my best manners, I can assure you.
2013 1220 001 – Scorpion, Cocobolo over natural canvas with a blue g10 pinstripe, Tapered Tang, Convex on 1/8” thick 3D Spalted 01 steel - $295
The Asp. I really like the Asp. I’m sure it’d do bushcraft tasks, but it’s a fighter to be sure. It wouldn’t be a nice knife to have to stare down, I’ll say that. This weeks are both g10 with tapered tangs on 5/32” thick 3D Spalted 01 steel
2013 1220 002 – Asp, OD green g10 over natural canvas with a lime green g10 pinstripe, Tapered Tang, Convex on 5/32” thick 3D Spalted 01 steel - $295 SOLD
2013 1220 003 – Asp, Cornflower g10 over natural canvas with a white g10 pinstripe, Tapered Tang, Convex on 5/32” thick 3D Spalted 01 Steel - $295
The Big Sneaky. This is actually a bushcrafting blade, but it has tactical temptations, just like the Sneaky Pete. It has the same hand filling 4.5” long handle as the SP, but the blade is a full inch longer at 5”. The two I have this week are both really nice! The first is Margarita G10 on a tapered tang with a Fiddltextured 01 steel blade. The other knife has a Paduk handle on a SFT Tang. Really nice model. I’m excited to get one, and I know you are going to love it too!
Pictured below with a Hunter.

Four Small Knives. Have you noticed how many new models we have these days. Still, the old ones are good ones. This batch is half new, and half classics. It’s hard to pick among them. This is the size knife I like to carry.
