2013 1220 010 KPH, Stabilized and dyed California Buckeye burl over black g10 with a lime green g10 pinstripe, SFT Tang, Convex on 1/8 thick 3D Spalted 01 steel - $275
paying with Paypal
That Bushfinger with the California Buckeye burl. It's really beautiful and I'm sure that Brummie is really going to enjoy looking at that one for sure!
....and the lacewood Bushcrafter. Thurin has been driving me nuts talking about how comfortable his is to use, and that model grows on me more and more.
I already have Fiddlebacks to admire. The ones I bought this week are intended to be users, but I'm worried that the buckeye burl might be too pretty to make it.

Guess I'd better get down to the unpleasant business of paying for my purchases![]()
I agree with Thurin. The Bushcrafter was not one of my first picks and I bought it just to test out. It's my favorite of the FF knives I have so far and I will buy another if a config that I want comes up.
Interestingly enough, the ones that really catch my eyes this batch...besides the Asps, are the Arete, that Arizona Desert Ironwood is gorgeous, and more and more I have wondered how that model handles
Hey Brummie...You get to look at it when you use it too dang it!...LOLI already have Fiddlebacks to admire. The ones I bought this week are intended to be users, but I'm worried that the buckeye burl might be too pretty to make it.

Brummie...I like em all no doubt. I REALLY like that Woodsman you have. I counted up my FBF knives a couple days ago and I'm up to 20 now. I am beginning to get so many that I can't seem to stay on top of getting the sheaths made by Rick Lowe. I have come to realize that I may NEVER get caught up unless I turn the computer off and go fishing or something...LOLThat's not the full collection. I also have a very old model nessmuk, which is part of my nessmuk trio, and these users -
12" machete and bushboot combo

and this old-skool, extra thick woodsman, from the time when Andy still took orders and did layered wood handles

The shank in the display case is also ultimately an EDC user - it is just occupying that spot until the Dozier KS-3 I have on order is done.
I REALLY like that Woodsman you have.
Thanks for the info on the Old style Woodsman. Being relatively new to BF and Andy's works at FBF, I don't know much more than a hill of beans about the old works of Andy's at all. Maybe this is not the proper place to say this but if you ever decide to sell your Woodsman...Or any other FBF knives, you are welcome to look me up because I will always be interested! Take care and catch you on the next FB Friday melee!! GordyThe designs have become more refined in a number of ways, but I do miss the old wood-on-wood handles. I guess they were a lot of work though. I also like the profile of the old woodsman - probably closer to the Duke than the current woodsman. I'm glad I got that one (bocote on blackwood with a red liner) whilst I did. I think it was only about $200 at that time.
Merry Christmas to All.
