Fiddleback Friday - New Nessmuk! 2/22/13

I hit 'refresh' and hold my breath because I'm ready to pull the trigger on the Lacewood Bushfinger, and WHAT? I missed ANOTHER 1/8" tapered tang Bushfinger already?! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Rats!

Congrats to whom ever got it. She's a beaut.

I hear ya Schmitte. Been looking for one myself in micarta, and would have pulled the trigger on the black one. Till next time.

That new nessmuck is styling. Great looking grind and comfy looking handle.

MAW, you should buy it so we can see some comparison photos with other Fiddlebacks. ;)

Andy,
I will take the Nessmuk.
Always loved that style and your interpretation looks fantastic.

Wow, you got the nessie just as I was reading through the thread! Thank you for "saving" me, I hope we get to hear all about how awesome it is!

Hey Andy. Would it be out of line to ask you, when you update your posts with 'SOLD', to leave in what you charged for it? Perhaps you are removing it for some other purpose and if so, my apologies.

I'm new to the FF crew but I love your work so I plan on sticking around for more of these...It'd be nice to look back on older Fiddleback friday threads and see what knives that I may look for in the future sold for. When I look back on some of the threads where you sold every knife...I can't tell at all what you charged for that specific model. I've found your sticky where you mention base prices and then the options for burl and G10, etc...but on new works like the sneaky pete and when a bunch of options line up....it'd be nice to just see what someone paid for that one.

Either way, keep 'em coming....

Best Regards,

OK. I don't mind doing it. Most knifemakers delete the price in for sale posts. I used to leave them then just switched when we went to the new system. I'll try leaving them up.

FYI, I'm going to re-write the pricing guide to add some of these new models. I'm grouping the Sneaky Pete with the other 4" bladed knives. Base price would be $225 like a Bushfinger.

I keep trying to make these things for you and Kal-El, but it just isn't working for us. I'm not giving up though. I got you.

Maybe I should ship all the new models to Maw for some kind of size pic database....

I'm stoked you bought it. I hope you like it a lot!!!

Use more Kirinite!

Mr Roy, you are a true gentleman. Thank you for helping! I'm more than ready for every Friday. This is exciting!

Andy - I've paypal'd the monies for 2013 0222 02 Bushboot, Maroon linen over natural canvas with a white pinstripe, Tapered Tang, Convex on 1/8” thick steel.

I went into Friday saying that i wouldn't purchase anything this week -- but the combination of scales/liners you used on this bushboot is one of my favorites.

Thanks again for the great knives -- love the kirinite and the bolsters!

Maybe I'm the lone voice on this, but I prefer the look of your original Nessmuk. Curves are sexy. :) That said, I can see the new handle being more friendly to a larger variety of hand shapes & sizes.

Your new Kephart though is hot. Ever since Mistwalker posted up his pics it has been calling to me.

Your use of materials for the handles has always been unique, and the Kirinite is pretty cool looking. Looks similar to some of the acryllic material Great Eastern Cutlery is using for their slipjoints.

Work, family, and Boy Scout demands are keeping me busy, but one day I'm hoping to take you up on your offer to visit your shop.

The quality of your work keeps getting better, keep it up.

Good one ITF! :) I must admit that as much as I fight it, this design intrigues me. There seems to be a few folks of late speaking of its virtues. I would think that that knife would spread peanut butter and jelly like nobody's business (a personal favorite of mine!)

My first thought...

Andy, you keep coming up with great stuff. The new Nessie looks really good, but....but that F2 looks fantastic. I've been looking around for something like the old Schrade Sharpfinger, but with a bit more handle and blade. The F2 looks like just the ticket. (Dimensions?) That's next on the dream list.

All of its dimensions match the Hiking Buddy. That what it was. A HB that got into the grinder at the spine. LOL.

Andy - the Maroon Bushboot arrived in today's post. This is my second bushboot and my first with a tapered tang. I am amazed at how different this knife feels in the hand than my first one and while I like the scale combinations on my other knives, I think Maroon Linen is STRIKING.

Thank you again for creating such a nice tool - I can see this knife being used for years to come and passed down to the next generation when that time arrives.

I have never had a non tapered version, but I love the feel of the tapered one I have. And it has gotten a lot of oohs and aaahs :)
