Fiddleback terminology 101

Hi all,

Mostly a lurker here (not to say I don't own a few Fiddlebacks)...and last time I checked this section out I had a hard time understanding some of the acronyms / terms you guys are using.

So, for me and those like me, please clarify the meaning of:
SFT tang ?
TT - was able to figure out: Tapered Tang.
Trinity pinout ?

Fill free to add any other acronyms / terms that may be a challenge for any newbs here.
 
Sft is standard full tang and TT is tapered. Trinity pin out is 3 pins in a line about 1/2 to 3/4 inch apart. Pics will be added by a member of this lovely community, that I can assure you.
 
Just to clarify, SFT Tang stands for Skeletonized Full Thickness Tang. Full thickness without all of the weight. I'll try to think of more to add when I am actually awake :)

All this time and I thought it was standard full tang. Thanks for the knowledge sir!

Most of the nicknames and abbreviations are used for scale configurations and not so much the blade itself:

Trinity pin out ^^^^
Tuxedo- black micarta on natural canvas micarta with a white pinstripe and nat can pins
Tuxedo with a twist- same thing as a plain tuxedo but with a lime green pinstripe
Doublemint- Jade G10 over white With black liners and pins
Predator pin out- Much like the trinity pin out but in a triangular pattern that resembles the predator's laser sights.
3D spalting- Spalting on the flats of the blade that resembles burnt skin (third degree burn) or just three dimensional.
Model standard- When you see this in the blades description, Andy believes that that particular blade is one of the best he's done. It usually will be rocking all the upgrades. They do come in 01 as well as stainless.
Y'all- Is short for "You all" and is usually said with a southern accent or country twang.:D

And do not forget the Western PA/East Ohio expression "y'ins" which = y'all, without the southern twang.

Lol, and you forgot yonder, which is essentially southern for over to any place other than where you are currently standing, whether the other side of the room or other side of the state :)
 
Andy has also referred to the trinity pinout as triple beauty marks. Andy has a thing for beauty marks, birth marks and Sophia Loren (his grandfather's favorite movie star).

Patterns (in addition to those noted above):
BCK = Bushcraft Karda
EDK = Every Day Karda
BLJ = Bow Legged Joe
BLC = Bow Legged Chopper
KPH = Kismet's Practical Hunter

Materials:
ADI or DI = Arizona Desert Ironwood or Desert Ironwood
EIR = East Indian Rosewood
 
Y ins made me smile. When my father was alive I use to visit him in PA so I learned that term real quick.
 
Minor correction on the Western PA version of Ya'll......it's actually "Yunz".

How do I know this......University of Pittsburgh graduate & married a girl from the North Hills of Pittsburgh :)

Pa folk use to laugh at my "southern accent", even though I'm from Miami. Great people. BTW, the main Fiddleback term you need to know is.......I'll take it.
 
"ah crap" or other expletive means "someone sharked the knife I was after".

LOL, I stand corrected. My wife hails from Butler, just N of N. Hills. We were living there from mid 90s through early 2,000s. When my grandson was born, there were five generations of my wife's family alive in Butler for a short period. My wife's grandmother died shortly after our grandson was born.

At that time, my mother and father lived on Pine Island FL. Judging from where you say that you currently live, I suspect that you might know where that is.
