Fiddleback User Pics

That is a beautiful pair and the Arowana is stunning. The shaping around the lanyard hole is the touch of a craftsman. The knife reminds me of many historical blades and appears very versatile, particularly in 3/32".

Those are awesome. That Arowana is a slick pattern by Allen. It would make me a little twitchy to have such a close match but have the different pins. Hah! Nice knives.

That is a cool looking matching pair Simon. I have always loved the soft flowing lines of the Ladyfinger. The Arowana in 3/32" should be a great kitchen knife with that knife sweeping curve to the blade. The OD and natural canvas combo really looks sharp together.

Thanks for the crisp photos. Those two are keepers.

Phil

Thanks Phil, i feel honored to get positive feedback on these pictures of "Mr. Review with awesome pictures" himself. I can do better but for quick shots inside the apartment they are acceptable. To be honest I am negotiating with myself if i keep the ladyfinger....i might just keep it and have them both in the kitchen as dedicated slicers.

That's a sweet pair Guhul. I have a stainless Ladyfinger that sees more kitchen work then anything else. I'm glad someone got that Arowana since I couldn't pull the trigger. :D

Thank you. I would love to have those in stainless, this would make them even better....but the spalting on both is very very nice too :)

Awesome matching set! I'd like to pick up an Arowana as well.

Thanks man...yes, pls get one. Even better than i thought ist t would be.

Thanks a lot. The craftsmans touch is absolutely amazing!

Wow!!! Nice pair Simon [emoji106][emoji106]
Thanks Abe...first matching pair...at least a 98% match once the pin colors are not fully the same.

Guhul, that's a nice set you got there. Great pics as well!

I love the OD/natural combo. I was really tempted by that KEB yesterday. Glad someone picked it up before it tormented me too long. And Bush.Hacker's Woodsman in OD/natural is definitely my favorite looking Woodsman.

Here's my only OD/natural combo blade, together with some other OD and brown canvas - continuing with those comparison shots. I think these pictures show the difference between OD and brown canvas much better than the one I posted earlier. Andy and Tom are right the brown canvas is not green, but it's not totally brown either. At least not that muddy brown that's a lot more prevalent on other makers' knives. I'd say it's somewhere in the middle.

Thanks so much Kirkwood...this makes it clear. it looks as i thought it should look like...not the trick pics that Phil was taking :D...
I bought for kitchen use in mind and hence wanted micarta.....the bolsters make it more interesting....love OD and the sandwich line on the natural is unique as heck.

Seems you are into orange liners... What do i have to do to get that runt? I will trade you any of the 4 i got...

Here is another round of pics. 50 degrees up here so i dragged the wife out for a little late afternoon hike with some great sunshine....snapped some pics with the iphone as we strolled through the woods. That BC is the first high grind i bought recently off the flea and this will be a user...really like it.

May I introduce two brothers from another mother: potential kitchen twins

1/8" SFT Ladyfinger vs. The first WA Surls Arowana in 3/32"

Here are two more brothers from another mother.

I just got my Arowana and it is my new favorite knife. W.A. Surls Arowana in 5/32" tapered tang A2 and a Fiddleback bear cub in 1/8" tapered tang A2.

Let me know if you want to let that one in 3/32" go Guhul! I would swoop on that in a heartbeat!!!

Hello all... New member here. I took part (quietly and successfully) in my first Fiddleback Friday which led to my first post and my first handmade Hiking Buddy. I can hardly wait to receive my package and a few of you may be sending me more packages as well.

I thought I'd share a few pictures of my Fiddleback Machete (16"). I'm currently in Saipan on a job and the machete has been critical to accessing areas after what Typhoon Soudelor did to the jungle.

I look forward to talking to you guys and thank you for all the valuable information I've had access to through your posts. Cheers.
