While everyone is admiring Brian's knife, I'm more concerned with the meal. What time is dinner served, sir?

And will you arrange to have a hobbit singing for me over in the corner, while the battle rages at my castle gate?

Seriously dude. You know how to eat.

Lol, if only!

Funny what you can learn through a few years of living...rough. These are things I learned to cook over an open fire while hiding in urban woods in Dallas as a teenager. Poor man's fare usually picked up in the form of bruised and/or damaged produce, and meats that were technically out of date. Though with all fresh stuff these days, and a bit extra meat this time :) To this day I still have a habit of befriending my local butchers and produce managers, and I hope Matt and Daryl like their Christmas gifts. They have been really good to me the last two years. But even with this bought at face value, this meal fed the three of us well, twice, for less than $20. One can do quite a lot with a knife, a few spices, some steel pans, and a heat source :D

The story behind the axe is the best part.

We were sitting around w/ Liam at TrackRock one night. I managed to pester him enough to add a 13th axe to his 12 axe batch. I immediately gave him a deposit that night w/ the understanding I would need to email Karen to let her know and get me on the list. I followed up w/ her on Monday and had a expected delivery date of "before Christmas"

One night last week I was watching a Hoffman "live" feed on Instagram at nearly the same time as Allen. I quit watching it and Allen asked him about my axe during the "live" feed and he responded about shipping it to " someone whose name started w/ "J" or something like that.

Oblivious that Allen had asked him, later that night I posted on one of his pics that " I couldn't wait to receive mine". He thought I was kidding that I had not received it. Later the next day, he sent a message to me to insure me even though it was not in his hands, it was "in safe hands and I would see soon". I left it at that.

Last Saturday night SG(Justen) presented it to me at the Fiddleback Christmas party. I believe most of you have seen the pic of me w/ it in my awesome John Cena Christmas sweater. It's also the pic SG sent to Liam when I received it.

Hope SG s=does not mind me sharing this, but I'm still blown away by his gesture

Got bored today so I went out and found a nice piece of osage. This is my first attempt at carving a spoon. Still needs some sanding then some tung oil to finish it off. A little bigger than I wanted. The next one will be smaller.

Handyman assignment- cleaning 4 rabbits and a solo quail. (3 squirrel not pictured but done in the field this morning)

Good job Handyman

Quick pic showing similarity in handle but difference in length between camp knife and competition cutter. Both are a joy to use. I'm lucky enough to be able to carry a large knife without raising too many eyebrows (other than my skin colour).
