Fiddlebacks for Ladies

My wife hates girly knives. More than anything she is interested in the feel of a knife. In general she likes heavier, thicker blades that want to work.

I see that. Remind me to stay on her good side. Nice choices btw.

Perhaps this is an application of the Jungian concept of anima/animus in knife choices across sexes. Our unconscious perception of feminine and masculine attributes of a tool become a point of expression that we often have trouble communicating as constructs of active identity in the conscious mind.

Jarrett, really?? You could have just said "Dude, don't stereotype" lol

Sorry man you got me thinking about it too much :p

Most of the knives you pick for women appeal greatly to ME and would be passed over by the wife :D

So I brought out my meager collection and asked the wife to check them all out and let me know which had the best feel and which she liked the most based on looks.

She didn't even pick up the Forager and when I tried to hand it to her she said "I'll tell you now that's not my favorite, it's too big" although she did like the Arowana but said only when a large knife was needed in the kitchen. She then took each one and held it a couple different ways and inspected them.

She ended up picking the Ladyfinger in 3/32" as the one she would most likely use indoors and out. She also liked the Sylverfalcen as one she would carry in her pocketbook if she ever needed to do that. I asked her if she would like one and she said "Why, you always carry 2 or 3, I'll just use yours."

The Bushboot in Afzelia Burl was her favorite by far in the aesthetic department. She said it looks like a great cup of coffee, but she did not like how it set in her hand.

So it seems I'll be looking for a Ladyfinger with Afzelia Burl, or a unicorn, whichever comes around first. [emoji4]
And for a size reference, she is a petite 5'3".

I apologized for the terrible pics.
