Obviously I'm new here as this is my first post. I 'purchased' a custom knife a while back. Company/guy went by fiddlers green knives. I found him on Instagram through a few other well know custom makers. I talked to a few people that purchased from him and they seemed happy, so I ordered. My first knife over $60 and first custom. He told me three weeks, and now it has been 3 months. Haven't heard from him in a solid month and he returns no calls or emails. Seems to be that I got swindled out of my money.
I guess my question is has this happened to others? Does anybody know this guy or ever even heard of the company. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks...Dustin

A three month (or three year) wait isn't uncommon for popular custom knife makers. But since they said three weeks, they owe you an explanation at least, in my opinion.

Did you pay up front for the knife? If so, did you pay by credit card or PayPal?

I've never heard of the maker, but here's the website link just to save everyone else from searching for it:

The website says the shop is moving soon, which could undoubtedly cause delays.

Yes I payed in full through paypal. Paypal says I Cannot dispute because to much time has passed. I talked to him right after he moved and said it would be delayed a week or two. I am fine with waiting whatever it takes but it just doesn't seem right that I get no response at all in a month. Before he responded promptly within hours.

The maker's name is Matt Clark. I could not find any reviews of him or "fiddlers green" here on Bladeforums, and there's really very little information about him or his knives elsewhere online. There's a small chance that someone here on Bladeforums knows this person and can get in touch with some sort of update.

My own opinion of Matt Clark: He had no reason to take your money until the knife was ready to ship. :thumbdn:

Yeah, I have his personal number. The problem is that he doesn't respond. Looking back I agree and made a mistake, but hopefully it just shows up! Thank you for your input and opinion man.

Considering what "Fiddlers Green" supposedly is, his work has very little representation of it. And he's another trading on his service experience as knifemaking background. Hope it all works out for you.

From his webpage:

"We love seeing your pictures of our knives ! Tag @fiddlersgreenknives on Instagram to have your picture featured next month!"

Maybe start tagging him in blank photos. "Still waiting for my @fiddlersgreenknives knife!", "Really wish this was a photo of my @fiddlersgreenknives knife!", etc. Making your communications more public might force him to respond to you.
