Field Test: Medical Scissors vs. Umbilical Cord

I was allowed to do the snip on my second child. It gave me the creeps - cutting your own flesh and blood. When we had our third and fourth, I declined.

My kids were both born in cabins in the woods, with midwives attending. No docs present to "allow" anything. I caught them as they came into the world. Slippery little devils they are.

I avoided medical professionals as much as possible back then. Didn't trust them. Still don't, but it's harder to avoid them now that I'm married to one. ;)

congrats a rama :)

call him "little khuk" :> he won't get it for a while, then give him the ang khola :)

They're learning! Yesterday the 4-year-old insisted on helping me chop some mesquite for a cooking fire, using the aforementioned ang khola. Though we haven't yet reached an age at which he can do this without my guiding hand helping out on the handle, I can tell you that he's ready!
