It's that time of year again. There are football fans all over the world who are so excited to see the World Cup, there are announcers gearing up to scream a very elongated "GOAL" into microphones and football players from all over the globe are trying to "bend it like Beckham". One whole month of football...or soccer if you're here in the states! Who else is excited? The games kicked off yesterday and it's looking like its going to be another good year.

anyone see the pics of them PAINTING the dead brown grass green.... ;) Oh and Australia was just robbed by the idiot whistle blower..!!!!!!!!

I love it! my favorite sport. I was lucky and got to play all over the world. gave up a scholarship to Join the Army and fight for my country. I sometimes wonder how stuff would have turned out had I went the other route playing soccer and going to college instead. I imagine I would have had a lot more kids or possibly ended up in jail lol :)

either way I'm ready. already some good games going on.

hahaha! Sport.

I saw a funny headline on 'The Onion' - World’s Greatest Soccer Stars Arrive In Brazil For Month long Coca-Cola Ad.

I'm sort of an odd ball in that I don't follow sports. I'll watch North American football and Hockey only when in finals and/ or friends are watching..... Ditto with soccer ( I CAN understand why people watch them)... CANNOT watch golf or baseball. Sorry. To me, golf is a game not a sport....

Sorry guys I'm 47, grew up playing baseball, football Ok American football, and basketball. I liked tennis also. Soccer might as well be ice hockey to me, born and raised in the deep South. So no on FIFA, but do like the economic boost when it comes to my area.

Hey Murf,

I'm in Quebec. We no longer have a Pro baseball team. However, baseball ( mostly what you would call "little league") is still big. Certain Big businessmen, in the Montreal area, are looking into bringing a professional team back.

Ya know it perplexes me why these city governments don't understand what an economic boom professional sports are. I know people say players are way over paid. That is an argument for a different post and forum. I'm in Orlando sir and you could come up to me on the street and high stick me and I wouldn't have a clue. Probably wouldn't even whip out the Caly 3.5 on you. Lol. Stay warm my Canadian brother. God I love a country that brought Moulsons and Crown Royal to the world. I am saluting you as I text this. Lol

Only sports i watch anymore really is Winter Olympics Hockey both men's and women's. Very fast paced hockey. Watch "American";) football sometimes when the Vikings play but since they play so poorly since forever it's not worth me getting upset and going on a mini tirade or putting holes in things that i shouln't have just cause they lost which is always.:) I get overly emotional sometimes and sport's is a trigger for me so kind of avoid it. As far as soccer goes would like to watch the riots afterward then the game itself. Someone should create riot soccer. I'd watch that.:)

I'll second that Olympics hockey comment.... Our women's team rocks!.... Mate, no sport is worth you breaking things and risking high blood pressure over.... Life has a way of bringing REAL grief and drama , don't need to allow games to hurt you.... 'Tis nothin' but a game after all;)... Peace....

I'll never understand the rioting that follows sports events. The destruction of other people's property is senseless. You break your own things? Well at least, you're the one stuck with the consequences. That's fair enough:thumbup:. I've watched many local riots and it's heartbreaking watching shop keepers pick up afterwards. Business is hard enough as it is. People out on an evening, getting to their cars to find them vandalized or burnt. Funny how rioters don't attack their own property...

Yep. Women's hockey in the olypmics is awesome. Really blows my mind compared to other women's sports cause they really do almost compete with the guys. Almost.;)Best of the best from all different countries makes very intense fast paced games. Missed most of them this year though which sux. Only watched two Vikings games this year and said enough not worth the distress.:)

I enjoy the World Cup. Three more games today, with Columbia currently ahead of Greece by 2. I'm looking forward to the England v Italy game later this evening.

World Cup is the only time I like soccer. Had a few beers with a buddy watching World Cup today and ended up heading to the sporting goods store to drunk purchase a Mexico jersey. Munching on tamales, sippin' on Modelo cans and waiting for the next batch of fake injuries and spectacular slide tackles -in my new jersey. Goooooaaaaaaaaaaalllllllll!!! :D
