fight! fight! CUDA Maxx 5.5 or BM 940??

I have had no problems with D2. They have seen plenty of sweat from riding in my pocket over summer months. I occasionally wash them off. That's about the extent of my maintenance on my knives.

I have owned both - sold the Cuda - the 940 Ti is the most carried EDC. Has the right attributes - S30V, light, usable blade shape. Cuda was just too big for EDC. If for self defense only, then I would have kept the Cuda.

Who carries the 940Ti with S30V? I always see the 940 with 154CM.

I've carried mine in my dress slacks....heavy cotton twill material...with no problems. I did outfit it with the deep carry clip from www.classicknifekits This is a GREAT clip for only $4.00 and is a perfect add on. Really lowers the knife all the way into your pocket. I have one on my Aftermath and did have someone ask if it was a pen I was carrying!

i think i see this on their site as "Designer Series Foldover Pocket Clip." is that the right one? also, don't suppose you have a photo of this clip on the Maxx? looks like it should do the job though.

you guys are the best! i just placed an order with Dave's Knife Store (didn't run into any complaints, just a couple praises), so now i play the waiting game. i'll be sure to let everyone know when it arrives, and how it works out for me.

to those of you who suggested the 940, that's VERY NEXT on my list!

When you take the knife out of the zipper pouch you *will* giggle.
Maniaclally.

Allyourblood---you won't be sorry you ordered the Cuda Max. I've owned mine now for at least a year. D2 steel w/the anodized titanium handle. It's my favorite knife. Not only is my EDC but since it is almost always on me it seems to do every job. Example: last night we cut open cheap Wal-Mart shotgun shells as a demonstration that they are not shot shells but cheap chinese firecrackers. Alot of use on the Cuda cutting open plastic, etc... Then today we bag two ducks and this afternoon a deer. Cuda was all we had and cleaned all w/it (after washing the lead off of course).

I also work part time for the fed. govt. and as backup security carry this knife in nice suit pants and have never been uncomfortable with it there. I forget it's there and no one notices it either since my suit coat covers the clip. Speaking of which, I have broken one clip since ownership; contacted Camillus and they not only jumped to it but supplied me with a new clip and the screws. Knife was out of service for about 4 days. And it was friggin free. That's service baby.

I have had a couple of specks of discoloration from walking the beach in Galveston, TX w/ the knife. Used Blitz and it cleaned right up. The blade maintains its deep blue luster. Hope this info helps validate you purchased a great knife. I have no experience with the other one; don't own one. Regards.

Alacran,

that was exactly what i was hoping to read. this looks like it's going to be a dandy of a knife. easily the most expensive one, and also the biggest. i hope a few of you jump on the group-clip purchase with Steven and myself.

now where's my Maxx????????

ayb, sign up with Steven as that is the clip I'm talking about. It comes with a high polish and I roughed it up some with 100 grit sandpaper and applied some of the 3M Stair Tread tape to the clip. Makes it MUCH easier to draw and it tones down the high shine. The stair tread tape is a medium gray in color and has a pebbly finish.

artsig1, see my above post (i'm way ahead of you!;) )

i really appreciate your instructions on how to "dull" the finish on the clip. i'm a fan of bead-blast (despite its slightly greater propensity to rust), and i'd rather not have the sun beaming off the clip if i can help it. i really wish you had a pic lying around of your clip, so i could see exactly how you have the tape applied. that sounds interesting.

btw, Dave from Davesknifeworld.com has received my payment and allowed me to add insurance to my Priority-shipped Maxx! hopefully if he ships tomorrow or Tuesday (and it seems as if he will), i should have that big daddy in my hands by the end of the week!!!

work is going to go by sooooo slooooooow....

edited to add: artsig1, i just read your post in the "group buy" thread, so now i understand where you have the tape on your clip. thanks!
