DEFINITELY bad-ass!

You make some AWESOME knives Claudio!

While micarta may not look as good to me as some other materials, no doubt it will out last most in use.

ALL of you Knifemakers better watch out when Santiago hits his stride.....wonderful picture my friend!

this is my fav knife ive seen on this forum so far, i cant get over how much i love it! its beautiful brother, what steel is this? and i gather you forged it? thus the working marks in the blade? also this is the 1st ive seen of the antique bronze is it hard to do? (excuse my ignorance im relatively new to the custom knife world)

Congrats Joe and Claudio !
The bronze and black micarta looks great with the forge finish laminate blade.
Another fine addition to your killer collection.

Claudio your sheath work is superb and even the great P Long I think would approve :)

The frog sheath is fantastic and the over sized stud is again like the guard ........ Perfect :)

I can't stand to see a Sam Brown Stud as a keeper and I'll never know why more makers don't go the extra mile and make a large proper stud like you have done.

It is rare that I get a knife that I don't have to send out for sheath work

Thank You Very Much :)

I don't know how you produce a hamon like that, but it's amazing

BePrepared

It is not a Hamon (temper line ) so to speak, it is a lamination line. The outer skin is stainless the inner carbon. Like a backwards Oreo.

When the carbon is etched or blued it takes on the dramatic look you see here.

My first expierence with laminated blades was from Burt Foster and I really like the idea and love the look. The outer layer has the rust resistance characteristics of stainless the inner the performance value of Carbon the lamination characteristic should add toughness

There are more on here that can explain what else is going on in the transition area far better than I.

If you look at the knife image in the lower right of this picture you can see the sandwich affect going on in the spine
