Fighter headin for action

How big of a chunk of the 1/2 inch 1018 did you start with for that pommel? That thing looks like it took some serious work!!!!

thanks everyone.

Deweyknives- monkeys can be an asset but they can also be a PITA depending on the monkey. Monkeys with a drinking problem and horny monkeys are usually the worst, they'll do or say anything for a shot of booze or a piece, well you know, which can be good when it comes to the real crappy jobs. But they can be a hazard also, not only to themselves but to other monkeys working next to them.
Nothing pretty about a drunk monkey or a horny monkey getting his thingy wrapped up in a grinder turning 3500 rpm's, the smell is hard to get rid of and the blood, hair and other body fluids seem to end up on everything in the shop, plus the horny monkey can be so distracting to the other monkey's. Just be sure and screen your monkeys well before hiring, you've been warned. Also beware and stay clear of horny monkey's during break times :jerkit: but Duncan (DH) could probably tell you more about that. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Craig, my supply is running low, do you have any left. ;)

jdm61- it was about a 2 1/2" square. band sawed off the excess.

Thanks again,

Bill

Got any close ups of the handle?.... :) Its a great looking knife....

Hmmmm..... gotta go check my not so secret stash and see.... are you looking for more koa?..... let me know and I'll check... its safely stored and I gotta dig for it..... :D

Mr. BH

Haven't even started working on my MS knives as of yet.
Still trying to find a capable monkey like you use.

Really, were just to busy right now with the new shop
& house construction going on. The house is under roof
but the shop isn't yet. Last week we had 15" of snow
inside both of them. That wasn't a pretty sight !!!!!!!!

Hopefully the shop will be under roof this week so we can
start putting in the electric stuff.

Hey DH, I hear you about the snow, we got 3" of fricking ice before the 15"-18" of snow fell here. I don't think this crap will melt off now until summer. I got stuck in the driveway 3 times before I could get the truck headed down hill. I hate winter.

I didn't know you were going into turkey farming, that shop looks long enough to be a turkey barn. :D Maybe you should raise grinder Monkeys instead.;)

I'm going to start my JS knives after the first of the year, I'll probably be coming up for pointers. Can we use that Bus come June, sure be a lot more forgiving on the back if Pud could drive me to Atlanta in that.. :D :D :D

Craig, I'll contact you after the first of the year, if you want to part with anymore, maybe we can work out another trade. Sorry no other pictures of the handle and it was shipped out on Friday.

Thanks everyone,

Bill
