I made this one from pretty interesting ingot. The steel is strong but it seems like it is rich in carbon. It tends to darken itself. I had to play a bit with the picture to make the pattern better visible.
The blade is 5-1/4" long, 3/16 thick at the bolster, 1-1/8" wide. Flat ground.
The guard and the butt cup are brass, carved/sculpted and polished.
The handle is 4-1/2" long, made of Lignum Vitae wood, treated with tung oil and polished to high gloss with carnauba wax.
The blade tang goes all the way through the hadle and has a nut. Assembled with epoxy and can not be taken apart.

The sheath is 7-8Oz leather, hand stiched with a bit of tooling. Hold the knife tight and secure. Right side vertical carry belt loop. Threated with leather balm and polished.

I am asking $250(SOLD) shipped via Insured Priority Mail, CONUS (write me for other options).
PayPal preferably.

Dmitry,

There is no "Just a...." in any of your blades. Yet another sweet one! (I still like the engraved ones better :D)

Wow awesome. I swear that handle looks almost like elk antler!

Do you etch the wootz to get the pattern to show?

Lastly, the sculpting on the guard is really unique and awesome!

What kinda steel is that? ;) (jk)

That is beautiful, and I'll second the guard being particularly awesome.

Thank you guys.
David, yes, in most cases the wootz has to be etched to reveal the pattern. In some cases it is very hard to get it contrast enough. I do not know why. As far as I am making one blade from one ingot every single one is unique. Something might go different during melt or forging or heat treating. May be steel composition has changed somehow. As far as I know history of wootz not every ingot or melt was a success even for the ancient smith.

MacHete- well, I am trying not to use "crucible wootz" term unless I am 100% sure my steel fit some particular historical wootz type. In this case I did not see anything like that before. So let's say it is the "homemade crucible steel made with the same principles as wootz"...
