Fighting Bowie or...Zombie Killer

Another beauty Nick ... man those clayless hamons really have a character all their own don't they...

I find it amazing that you were able to achieve the rarest of the rare hamon- brainzu, and that you tooled your leather in a grey matter motif to match.
the polished spine poking through the forged texturing is like the glinting cranial bone showing through the rotting scalp of an undead.
even the hunched attitude of the blade-to-handle pitches the knife forward in an awkward but unstoppable zombie shamble.
this knife would be a ton of fun up here on the trails, hopefully far away from zombies.

Lorien, that cracked me up! :D

Derrick, thanks bud, I've really gotten a kink for the no clay ones. The control freak in me wants to have enough control over the time/temp/clay to be able to write my name in the hamon, but...... There is just something about the clay-less ones that I'm drawn to as well. I guess it's the organic, actual cloud-like figure they can have. Similar to the way I'm drawn to the crazy, but nature made, figure in wood burl.

Joe quoted that from my customer application form. :foot: ;) Seriously though, just holler at me. :)

Peter!!! I thought you must be out of the country! I haven't seen you post here or talked to you in about 18 years. That stag is still patiently awaiting its marriage to a 10"+ blade..... :)

FWIW- this knife is still looking for a good home ;)

Thanks guys! :)

Handle shape looks incredibly comfortable. Love what you're doing with W2 and hamon. Thick blade with strong distal taper and Wheeler 'cross the top is an attention getter, love it.

Video and the template comparison pic are great for the "looker" to help understand this knife. Thank you, Nick! A wicked one

I don't know how you can consider this a zombie killer. I don't see no green or orange on it anywhere. :D Seriously, beautiful work all around.

I remember Tai Goo doing some mechanical agitation on his quench oil a few years back using a drill with a bent rod chucked up in it that would hit the side of the tank as it roatated. What kind of setup do you have to agitate your oil, if you don't mind sharing?

Joe - Function creates the majority of aesthetics, to me at least. :) It looks good because it feels like it will do the job very well.

Good god Nick, you knocked this one outta the park! I'm loving everything about it, especially that clean looking handle. That's a crazy hamon too!

Slick work sir!

Late but here.
Fantastic work, as always, Nick !
Outta' sight hamon action, very cool sheath.
What a great sole authorship package.

Doug

Thx for the info about the quench Nick ! ;)

I hadn't noticed how large this one is...
