Fighting/Defensive Knife - Suggestions

I second the earlier suggestion of the Camillus CUDA Maxx. It is small and light enough not to get in your way (I carry mine clipped to my pocket every day). The flippers allow it to be deployed very fast, even from a pocket draw.

I put a high defensive value on blade guards, which you will find on very few folders.

The Maxx's wide Bowie blade has plenty of belly and length for effective slashing.

Finally, those thick titanium scales make the integral lock stronger than you will ever need. This is a folder that can be used like a fixed blade.

I third that motion. IMHO, you can't afford NOT to get the Mad Maxx. Take fast, SAFE openings - whereby thumb stud equipped models are nice, you can screw up and slice up your thumb pretty badly. My Maxx opens like greased lighting; I'd say even faster than my Combat Talon II, and - it's a legal carry (at least around here, in the 4" version)

Furthermore, it is opened like lighting ambidextrously. And like the man said, it's a FRAME LOCK! In the heat of things, you put the death grip on this puppy and it reinforces what is already one of the strongest locks available.

You can tell that I really love my Mad Maxx. But there's solid reasons behind this love affair, not just in it's looks. It's futuristic and retro at the same time; something you can get "medieval" on someone, should you find yourself in an unavoidable unfortunate circumstance.
