I wanted to do this one completely unplugged and traditionally. I started with piece of a spring from an old gig plow. Forged it to shape as close as possible and finished it up with files and sandpaper. Differentially heat treated. The handle was also completely handmade with a spokeshave and files from white ash. Then finished with scrapers. I used a traditional oil and beeswax finish. Both head and handle lightly aged. This hawk is fast, light and well balanced.

O.A.L. of head: 9 3/8 ins.
Blade width: 2 3/4 ins.
Spike length from center of eye: 4 5/8 ins.
Handle length: 18 1/2 ins.
Weight: 13.8 oz.

Price is SOLD including US con. shipping and insurance. I accept Paypal or credit cards thru paypal.

Great workmanship.I can see it going into the woods with a flintlock.A real historical looking piece.

Stuart and me were forging up a little damascus last night and I held this little beauty in my hand, nice and quick and made the old time way, all hand work,no grinders on this one!!Stu loves tradition:thumbup: Have a great New Year everybody--Regards Butch

not sure how i missed this'en, but major thumbs up pal, i love it, and it shows true craftsmanship when you can flick the main breaker and still produce qualitity work, most of my own work in the begining was done with all files and such, any way good work, i wish i could do work that nice!!
