Great knife, but how about those action pics guys.

3/4" thick!?! Whoa that thing is a beast. Ah if only i had the money for this beauty:o

it may be 1/4" thick instead of 3/4"

if its 3/4" thick, dang. i will regret not getting if thats the case....

That must have been a typo. If it was 3/4" thick it would weigh more than 10oz. Ditto on the action shots. ;)

I think that would be a poor choice for combat... Seeing as its a heavy knife, you’d use it like a khukuri, but it wont have the chopping power and the correct momentum. The flow would be too slow! With a basic stiletto knife, one could slash the wrist of this opponent as he pivots the wrist to swing.
The smooth wood handle wouldn’t handle sweat too well, and it some blood gets in there? The tip suggest that it could be used for stabbing, but there is no ring on the handle, so if you hit a bone, you might slip down the knife and slice your hand! This happens a lot...

I would be undaunted by this knife, if I had to face it even with my little ti lite!

Khukuri is a choice weapon here in Africa, because your most likely adversary is the machete if you get in the shit! But I wouldn’t carry my 18 inch khukuri around with me on a casual day!

^ Its a nice knife, but its not fit for combat... Well maybe combat with a thug, but not in a skilled fight! And if its thugs you’re fighting, then the best would be a small, light stiletto, like the Ti-Lite (Zytel grip).

nice work, seth.:)

Actually, the knife is a Yeti's version of a Schrade Sharpfinger.

It is wise to respect the power of a blade. No matter how tough and skilled you are.

No disrespect to the blade, but the power of a blade comes from the wielder. And this blade is (by what I see) hard to wield.

Hey Id be daunted if I had to face a khukuri! Id be freaking out if I had to face any knife without a knife of my own, though I train for that situation. You just cant beat a skilled knife fighter with empty hands! But the most lethal knives IMO are the light, fast, powerful ones. Martial arts is about speed and power. But speed I believe is most important.
If a Ghurkha swings at you with his blade, you’re already dead or missing a limb. It’d be very hard to dodge. He would no doubt swing at the perfect time. The momentum of the blade couldn’t be parried easily if at all. Speed and reach is a nice thing to have. That knife doesn’t have either. Well I haven’t handled it, but that’s what I see.

If you want to buy a fighting knife, and you like this particular one - go for it! Its not the worst one for the job!

I’m just offering my opinion.

Id recommend this one: http://yhst-7333098713883.stores.yahoo.net/20inchkobra.html

...I have my eye on that one too.
