Fighting knife

your best option in a knife fight is a gun.

remember: if you find yourself in a fair fight - your tactics suck

In a knife fight prepare for both parties to be sliced up. Everyone loses in a knife fight. One guy just has a lot more time to think about it.

choilless Boss jack LE. light- thin- straight handle gives lots of options- no choil.

I like the sus scrufa- if one could get it choilless.

otherwise- whatever's handy.

Speed first, length second. I would opt for a clip point bowie style knife with the clip sharpened. Probably in the 7-9" range with a strong guard top and bottom. Not sure which Busse's would fit the bill but I'msure they have a few options.

Lots of choices out there. A non shaving factory v-edge will go through jeans straight to the bone with minimal force as I found out by accident with this mojo. ;)
The mojo (either busse or swamprat) has a knife catch to ward off an opponents knife.
The jackhammer would be great for stabbing. One in each hand would be pretty effective if you didn't cut yourself by accident.

Nuclear Zilla

Warboar and/or DSF are great choices too, along with a .45acp and a Zilla to make a statement before the fight gets too close.

Or pick something long enough to play "keep away" if/when you run out of bullets... :p

I don't own enough different Busse models to make really informed comment but my HG55 although small, is fast and would slip into flesh like a hot knife into butter. But if push really came to shove I'd be reaching for my Spartan Harsey Model one. The point is super penetrating and the blade is just the right length to be devastating. Fastest knife I own. Sorry it’s not a Busse for me everyone. I'm hoping my trip to Blade in June will change that........;)

My understanding was that they called it a draw. Muso Gonnosuke Katsuyoshi was the guys name and some records say they met twice the first time Musashi won, causing Gonnosuke to go away & rethink his strategy and "invent" the Jo and the style Shinto (or Shindo) Muso-ryu jojutsu. It is then unclear if Gonnosuke defeated Musashi outright or if the second bout ended in a "double defeat" (Musashi used a bokken instead of a katana). Either way, honour was satisfied and they both agreed to call it a draw.

EDIT: regarding the OP, it would all depend on what style of fighting you do.

Plus how much experience you have and how long you want to train. For example, if you want to get good at boxing, it'll only take a few months. If you want to get good at BJJ, it'll take 2 years to learn the basics.

I don't believe in knife fighting, fighting being defined as trying to beat the other guy (like a duel), rather than a quick self-defense cut and run. In England it's practically illegal to even discuss the matter - seriously! Give me a pool cue over a knife any day, for a fight.

However, since that this is an hypothetical question (safe queen fighting knife)...

For a 'display' fighting knife, that could surely do the business, one of the sleeker AA variants would be my choice. Roenman's would fit the bill perfectly for me: Link. I would love an AA, but they are illegal to import in England.

For a more realistically usable knife, a War Boar would be the thing. Small, easy to conceal, quick to draw and you can be cutting tendons and arteries and puncturing internal organs before your assailant even sees the blade.

I would think that the Roman Gladius has killed lots and lots and lots of people.

Seeing as this thread is a year old, I'll still throw my suggestion in. Note: I am no expert, nor have I had the chance to take a defense class that focuses on knife tactics by a person with extensive knowledge in this field. What I have seen is that for slashing, a wharncliff blade is the most effective. The only Busse I have seen like that is the Sus Scrofa. As for zombies, I like the Kill Devil Hawk or an Busse AK-47 :)

I passed on that offering and got a b11 off the exchange. Love the b11 but very excited about the 1311 and CG nmfsh I'm waiting on.
