Overall is 14. 7/8". The 1095 spring steel blade is
9. 13/16" X 1. 3/16" X 1/4" thick (3/8" at the blade catchers).
The guard, bolster, pommel, and blade catcher sides are 1018
steel WELDED in place.
The blade is heated in the forge untill glowing red and quenched
in strained used motor oil (this hardens it). It's then brought back
up in temp. till in can be filed (I leave the file marks showing. I
like a handmade knife to look handmade).
This is how I tempor my blades. They hold an edge extremely well.
The handle is 4. 3/4" long with a one piece, high impact,
tooling resin grip (holes are drilled through the full tang to
allow the resin to flow through. A mold box is made onto the
handle, resin is poured, and it's allowed to cure. Then it gets
shaped. Very, very strong).
The sheath is cemented at the spacer and hand stitched using
doubled, waxed nylon saddle stitching thread.
Moved elseware
Thanks for looking,
Mike
