Figure everyone likes pics

Thanks, the worst of it is north of us now, just not a good day for taking photos outside in natural light.

Considering what may be about to be unleashed on the eastern seaboard of the U.S. north of where I live, not being able to shoot outside photos seems kind of a silly thing to even mention.

Me too. My grandmother brought this back from Guatemala in the early 1970s.

nice! cant read the label, what brand is it?

rsmith, that was a pretty cool trade you made for that sheath. and nice collection, by the way!

wow. those collins machetes are supposed to be superlative.

I had no idea. For years it hung on the wall in my grandmother's kitchen. As young boys are often guilty of saying things without thinking how their words may affect others, I told her once that when she died I wanted her machete. Being the kind and generous woman she is, she gave it to me many, many years ago (she turned 93 back in June). The week long trip to Guatemala was one of her first adventures as a widow, following my grandfather's unexpected death at age 60. My grandmother was 53 at the time.

I have never used it, but my son has, mostly for chopping down bamboo.
