Pardon the question, but what materials can stand boiling or near boiling for this type of work?

G-10?
FRN?

What about Cellidor (Victorinox)? I've heard that it cannot. But could one dye cellidor with slightly cooled RIT dye?

To be fair, I did't boil the water with the G10 in it - you bring it to a boil and then down to a simmer. It's always a good idea to dip it for a bit and then bring it out to make sure it's doing ok.

I didn't know you could dye Cellidor - now you've got me thinking about doing this with some of my SAKs... Might have to look into what the safe temp is for doing this.

I've read of people boiling them (SAK scales) to "clean" them and ending up with ruined scales. So be careful. I would think somewhat cooler RIT mix would still stain/dye. I would think. I've never tried it.
