Does anyone know what steel is used in nicholson files??, im making blades from this so its a good idea to know what the steel is...thanx

I would think either W-1 or 1095. They should work just fine for knife blades.

I've heard everything from moondust to 1095. Whatever it is, it makes a good knife! The ones I have done heat treated like a 10 series steel!
