Has anyone done any file work on the Mule tang? I've been debating it but after ruining some drill bilts on the 52100 mule, I'm reluctant to find out the hard way that these things are so hard and tough that they're ruining my checkering files. Any experience on this???

I haven't tried, but I'd be willing to bet that M4 and S90V are going to be even harder on your tools than 52100. A Dremel tool with plenty of abrasive discs or diamond files would be in order.

Diamonds. Or maybe some diamonds. Possibly diamonds? :D

The M4 and S90V mules are going to be insane to filework. I suggest either plenty of disposable bits (like Yab mentioned) or some diamond files.

ice-pic did some handle work in post number 41 of the mule handle thread. It looks like it may have been done with a power tool, but he could probably tell you more about it.

Hi
I used a 12" wet carbide cut off wheel, kind of hard to control but cuts fast.

Makes sense. I'll keep the checkering files sharp - by keeping them in the drawer! :D
