Finally something to show you guys.
1095
OAL: 12"
Handle: 4.5"
Bloodwood scales

Decided not to go with the horse stall mat. So if it doesn't work good at least my friend can keep it a display piece. Well not that I think that my knives are good enough to display, you know what I mean. :o

Thanks for looking and for your continued help.

Very nice Pat! Is there some flex in the blade?

Can I borrow it for monday? I'm going after some monster grey trouts :D

A little flex but not much. It will be used mostly on larger striped bass and my friend likes a more sturdy/stiff blade.

Thanks for the good words.

Patrice

PS: Good luck with the fishing, wish I was going with you. :D

Very nice fillet knife!!

Yes I did the HT, full quench in 130F vegetable oil followed by 2X 2hours at 400F and 1 hour at 400F.

Thanks for the good words guys.

Very nice! I know from experiance(the painfull burnt finger kind) that grinding thin blades suck.

I realy like it Pat:thumbup:. The knife looks good with the bloodwood scales. I bet your friend will be very happy with this knife. Did you stabilized the wood?

Cheers Bob

Will, I know what you mean. It is not the slow heat build up that you get on thicker blades but instantly going from cold to "crap where's the water bucket".

Robert, yes I tried stabilizing it but it is a dense wood and stopped foaming almost right away and sank to the bottom. I still have to try other stabilizing medium other than Minwax wood hardener.

Sheath is coming soon.

Thanks again for the compliments.

Patrice
