Time to move on to another one.

Thanks for looking.

That looks great Patrice, what kind of steel did you go with on that and what is the thickness? Nice work.

Larry

Thanks Larry. This is 1095, 1/8" thick. I would have liked to go with stainless as this will be used in a salt water environment but I don't have kiln yet. Someday.
We'll see how this survives.

Patrice

I was thinkin ATS-34 in something thin....maybe 1/16th? I like the springy, flexible filet blades, but was wondering about the need for stainless. I suppose it depends on the owner and how he cares for his blades. Are you keeping that one? Cool design.

Larry

No Larry, this is a gift for a good friend. He takes care of his tools so it should help. He is used to a stiffer blade with almost no flex in it, mainly for larger fishes. Hopefully he'll like this one.

Patrice

See thats my problem, if I caught bigger fish I'd need a stiffer blade ;) Its hard filleting those little sunfish so they fit onto my crackers.....

Well I'm sure he will love that blade.

Larry

Very graceful looking knife, and very well executed.
Im sure that your friend will be ecstatic to receive it.

Pat i realey like your knife it looks great you did a good job.
Pat did you make the sheath?

Patrice,

I love the flow from the handle through the blade's tip. Your stamp/logo is really nice as well. What wood did you use?

The scales are bloodwood. I did make the sheath, it's my third one and although not perfect I believe I am improving a little with each one.

Knife is #6 if I remember right. When do you stop counting by the way?:D

Thanks for all the good words, really appreciated.

Patrice
