52100 high carbon steel
Heat treated to Rc 58-60
The heat treating process is done in my shop using an Evenheat furnace bringing the blade to critical temperature for three 20 minute cycles and quenching in oil. Tempering is done with two one hour cycles. This produces a fine grain structure throughout the blade for good edge holding and strength: extremely important is a blade this thin.
Flat to slight convex grind with a 600 grit finish
Handle is figured ambrosia maple that has been stabilized by K and G
Overall length; 12 1/2 inches
Blade: 7 1/2 inches
Blade thickness is about 1/16 inch at the choil with a taper to the tip
The harpoon clip is not quite sharp but it will add mass to plunge cuts
Leather scabbard with a belt loop for a right hand carry

One of the common questions I get about my filet knives is "will it flex". Yup.

Been waiting for someone to buy this because I already have two of your fillet knives. Since no one is taking the opportunity I will buy this and make it a trifecta. Check will go out tomorrow.
