Hello to all here. This is my first post in this section. I am going to start learning how to do filework. Are there any good books on this topic? Also, which files work the best for this? Thank you any and all who answer these questions for me

I've always wished that someone with more computer skills than I would make a printed guide. Just a template that I could lay on the back of the knife or what ever and file away. Have I correctly assumed that the spaceing is critical?

I use a 6" square and a carbide scribe to lay out lines at whatever spacing I want the pattern to be. I sometimes mark a center line down the blade also. The grid makes even spacing easy.
