Hi,

wonderful forum. I'm new and seek your inspiration. I have the following models:

  • SAR-3
  • SAR-4
  • E-M-P-T-Y
  • SAR-8
  • NMFBM

I am more than happy with what I have :D but not with what I DONT have :grumpy: This EMPTY place between the SAR-4 and SAR-8 needs to be filled. There are so many options in the 5.5 to 6.5 inch range, that I cannot make up my mind. What fits best??? Only condition... it has to be available as LE (satin/tigerhide).

Here you go...

And here are the results after one week:

SFNOLE: 11
ASH-1 LE: 8
Boss Jack: 5
BATAC: 4
Tank Buster: 4

Last Comment from my side to this thread: GOT AN ASH-1 LE. SFNO LE WILL FOLLOW :D
Final last comment: Got the SFNO LE as well. Thanks for your inspiration!

...I filled that gap with a Scrapper S5LE in INFI. Pretty neat little knife!

sfno,sar-squatch,shinny ash....there are others to,like chopweiler/ratweiler even the ratmandu...

A Boss Jack would fit in there quite well I would think. And they are available in a variety of blade colors and finishes

Of Course a Badger is always appropriate too.

the sar5 would complete your sar set, though you'd probably have to send it in for those features (satin and tigerhide). If your just looking for any knife in that range, I'm a big fan of the choiless boss jack.

So when the plan with a "selfmade SAR-6" does not work out, I'll go with a ASH1-le or SFNO-le I guess...

ASH1 le = 6.5"
SFNO le = 7"

Are these real-live measurements? The SAR-4 also turned out to be more of a 5" blade in reality... (no complain though ;))

Yes I was thinking about the SAR-5. But no matter how often I look at it... there aint no love between us.

Sorta depends on the style of blade you prefer. I really like the looks of the HG55 LE.

The HG55 LE is not so much my taste. I think in comparison I'd prefer the wider blades of the SFNO or ASH-1.

Grummmmm... from here on complaining pointlessly: why isn't there an SAR-6 out of the box? The balance of a "six-inch-long-SAR-8" must be almost neutral. Wouldn't that be nice? Maybe Busse avoided the "perfect knife" intentionally in order to keep us busy looking for it ;)
