This is my standard fillet knife intended for Walleye, Bass, Northern Pike, etc. of average size.
It is flexible, but not wimpy. The top of tip hook is NOT sharpened. I can sharpen it if you wish.
It is sharp, and will remain sharp for many fish. Under prolonged heavy use, a steel or ceramic
hone will bring the edge back quickly.

That is a very nice knife. What is the purpose of the hook at the end of the blade?

Some request the hook to be sharpened as well as about 3 inches of the top side of the knife, but I have never found that useful for me, and I have filleted a lot of fish in my day. However, it does lend a nice cosmetic "flair" to the knife. It can easily be ground off if desired.

I could see that hook being useful if sharpened

that blade looks like a champ!
